Description
Cyanotype Sensitizer Set
Use the power of the sun to produce detailed prints from all sorts of objects that cast a shadow: toys, leaves, plants, stones, string, lace, stones etc.
An amazingly uncomplicated process. Place one or more objects on the sensitized surface and expose them to UV sunlight. For more intricate results you can use a digitally printed photo negative rather than an object to create full-resolution photos on paper or fabric.
For use on any natural fibre or porous surface, wood, leather, cotton, linen silk etc. This process is great for mixed media artists, photographers, printmakers, and quilters. The fun of it appeals to all ages and is easy, quick, and magical.
Cyanotype is one of the earliest photographic techniques, also known as sun printing, discovered back in 1842. The process is distinctive in the way the monochromatic prints appear in Prussian Blue.
The cyanotype method was popular well into the 20th Century as an inexpensive way of re-producing maps, documents and plans, the term “Blueprint” is still used commonly today, and famously for “Photograms” for making impressions of biological specimens.
