Dorlands Wax Medium 4 Oz
Dorlands Wax is a versatile cold wax medium made from pure wax and damar resin. Used commonly as a protective topcoat for finishing and sealing an array of media, from collages to oil paintings. Also useful for adding depth and protection to watercolours and gouache paintings. The wax finish can have a high gloss after buffing with a rag, or a matt effect if left.
Using Dorland’s Wax on wooden objects, furniture, metal, polymer, ceramics photographs, drawings or clay provides a beautiful, shielding, and durable finish.
A small amount of pigment, dye, alcohol ink or oil colour can be added to the wax to tint the medium or used straight for a traditional wax finish appearance.
Add a dash of ink or pigment to tint the medium, or apply it straight for a traditional, stylish and elegant wax-finished look.
Use as a topcoat for projects using gouache, watercolours, oils, Unicorn SPiT, wood, acrylic, clay, polymer, pencil, ink or pen drawings, canvas, pour art, encaustics, mixed media, ceramics etc.
Mixable with Pearl Ex, oil colours, dry pigments and dye powders, mineral spirits, charcoal and various solvent-based products.
