Welcome to Just Pudding Basins

In October 2022 Howard, co-founder of Just Pudding Basins was fortunate to run in the London Marathon for the very first time having won a place in the ballot. The experience of the event left him wanting to do it again, but this time raising funds for a cause that has affected family members.

Howard’s eldest daughter contracted bacterial Meningitis as a child, she was hospitalized, and mercifully received prompt and life-saving treatment and fully recovered.  Years later his nephew at only 2 years old, contracted bacterial Meningitis, there were many days and nights of worry and dread, a truly awful time for all concerned,  the baby was put on a ventilator for 3 days and was in the hospital for 10 days. Luckily again, he made a full and total recovery.

It’s not always a happy ending, there’s no age discrimination for the disease. The Meningitis Research Foundation is not just about the research into the disease, but about helping those who have been directly affected, and supporting those living with the aftereffects of Meningitis or septicemia.  Bacterial meningitis kills 1 in 10 who contract it and 1 in 5 who survive it can suffer a lifelong disability. 

At 65 years of age, Howard may not achieve the fastest time but his entire focus is to complete the run with the hope that this great cause can benefit from the funds raised allowing them to continue to do their wonderful work.
